Water is carried, traversed, held, and enveloped within numerous vessels: ships, vases, containers, and the human body. They are porous, mutable thresholds in constant circulation and transformation. Extending from its origins as a means of containing and transporting water, the vessel is presented here as a mutable and expansive form through which life, memory, and history circulate.

Nikki Kesterson’s monoprints pulse with movement, texture, and surprise, transforming rhythmic marks and layered color into bold, one-of-a-kind abstractions. Embracing the spontaneity of the printmaking process, these expressive works reveal a fresh and experimental side of her practice. Airy, playful, and visually captivating, Nikki Kesterson’s first solo exhibition is on view May 9 through July 2 in Tierra del Sol’s Annex Gallery.
