Hugo Rocha in Incognito at ICA LA

Hugo Rocha of Tierra del Sol Studios will be participating in the ICA LA’s Fundraiser Incognito.

INCOGNITO is the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles’s legendary benefit art sale. A beloved tradition, INCOGNITO is unique among museum fundraisers. Now in its 13th iteration, nearly 400 established and emerging artists have contributed 12 x 12 inch original works of art in any medium of their choosing. All works are sold for only $500 and the artists remain anonymous, their identities only revealed after the purchase. INCOGNITO was established with a spirit of democracy, inclusivity, and fun. Guests are encouraged to use their eyes, follow their hearts, and trust their instincts to make their selections!

This year INCOGNITO has been reimagined as a virtual event. The live broadcast will begin at 5pm PT on Saturday, October 17, hosted by renowned actor and producer Joel McHale. The event will kick off with a 45-minute program featuring ICA LA staff and board members, as well artists who know and support the museum. There will also be special guest performances by Los Angeles artists such as Stephen Prina, collaborators Jade Gordon and Megan Whitmarsh, and the very funny comedian, actress, and writer Kate Berlant who does psychic readings with artists Nayland Blake, rafa esparza, and Tala Madani. After the program, the online art sale will open. All guests will be given access to the viewing room simultaneously and artworks will sell quickly! The sale will be open until 8pm PT.

Those who want to view the artworks in person and prepare in advance for the online sale can attend PRECOGNITO, an exclusive preview taking place during private timed appointments from October 15–17 at The Rendon, a historic former hotel and bar just a few blocks from ICA LA in downtown, which is now home to a contemporary art space. PRECOGNITO tickets prices also include access to INCOGNITO. The high level Devotee ticket holders will receive a 1-hour private viewing for up to 10 people, drinks served in the infamous bar at The Rendon, and gift bags for everyone in their group.
